Chinese Chestnut 2-3' (10/bundle)
Chinese Chestnut (Castanea mollissima) trees prefer to grow in moderately acid soil just like American Chestnut trees, but they only grow to be between 40 and 60 feet tall. Despite their smaller stature, they’re known for being more blight resistant than their American counterparts. They’re also known for being drought tolerant and grow best when they get plenty of sun. They start to grow edible nuts about five years after they’re planted and provide them to squirrels, turkeys, deer, and other animals.
